Reminders for the week of July 16, 2023

Important Announcements:

  • Welcome to the 23-24 school year! We are excited to see your smiling faces, and we are looking forward to supporting you and your child this year!

  • Gates: Please do not drop students off before 7:45am as gates do not open until 7:45am. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Traffic Loop: As a friendly reminder, please do not park your car in the traffic loop and exit your vehicle. Parking in the traffic loop creates significant traffic congestion on Camino Prado Street. The traffic loop is only for quick drop-off and pick-ups. If you would like to exit your vehicle for any reason, please park in the parking lot. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Medication: If your child takes medication, please make sure to check in the medication at the Health Office with doctor’s orders; this includes asthma inhalers. Thank you.

  • Pets: Pets are not allowed on campus. This is a district board policy at all schools in CVESD that is enforced for student safety reasons. Please do not bring or walk pets on campus. Thank you,

  • Student Deliveries and Messages: Please remember that if you need to deliver something to your child during the school day, office personnel are only able to deliver during your child’s lunch or recess time. Also, please make sure to coordinate with your child your expectations for afterschool dismissal. Thank you.

  • Teacher Requests:

Fahari L. Jeffers Elementary is a small school that feels like a family for our students. Most grade levels consist of two or three classrooms per grade level and may involve a combination classroom (also called a combo class). Combination classrooms are created by the District office due to enrollment reasons. In combos, students are grouped with similar abilities and needs. A lot of thought and purpose goes into the creation of our classes and for these reasons specific classroom requests are difficult to honor. Once classroom rosters are created, students are not moved to another classroom unless student enrollment numbers dictate the necessity to do so.  Please note, no changes will be made to class rosters within the first two weeks of school.

  • Volunteers:

We celebrate and welcome volunteers on our campus beginning the week of August 7th. However, please note that there are some requirements that need to be met to volunteer. Someone that volunteers less than 2 times a week, does not need to be fingerprinted but must meet all other requirements: (Raptor sign-in, show Tuberculous Test results, covid vaccine, volunteer training). Please see the school secretary for more information if you’d like to volunteer.

  • After School Pick-Up:

Teachers in grades 1-6 will be walked to the front of the school daily by their classroom teacher. Please wait for your student at their assigned grade-level cone in front of the school.

  • Traffic Loop:

The traffic loop is only for parents who would like their child to quickly enter or exit their vehicle. If you would like to exit your vehicle, or need to speak to your child’s teacher, you must park in a designated parking space. This will minimize traffic congestion.
